# NFTs ### Attackers can use air dropped NFTs to expose IP addresses https://medium.com/@alxlpsc/critical-privacy-vulnerability-getting-exposed-by-metamask-693c63c2ce94 A malicious actor can create and send a NFT to your blockchain address, so your crypto wallet fetches the image from a malicious server, revealing your IP address, according to Omnia, a blockchain infrastructure project. From [[Jameson Lopp]] newsletter ### [[Moxie Marlinspike]] on NFTs and web3 - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/i/status/1448066579611234305) by [@moxie](https://twitter.com/moxie) on [[October 31st, 2021]]: - I created an NFT, but the image renders differently based on who's looking at it. - For example, on OpenSea: [At my whim, #1 - AtMyWhim | OpenSea](https://opensea.io/assets/0x5c61afa47570ab2b562606fa578221305b12c307/1/) - ...vs on Rarible: [Rarible: NFT Marketplace](https://rarible.com/token/0x5c61afa47570ab2b562606fa578221305b12c307:1?tab=details) - ...vs if you own it, it currently renders as a large 💩 emoji in your wallet. How this works: - 1/n - Update: my NFT was removed by OpenSea without warning or explanation. I don’t see any terms it violated? - No problem, this is web3 right? But the NFT also disappeared from my crypto wallet! Why? Because MetaMask just calls the OpenSea API. Loving the decentralized future so far.. I am so very tired of this and it seems to be getting worse. Every artist I know is getting their work jacked and its just not fair or right. What can we even do, it feels hopeless. https://twitter.com/hipsterelectron/status/1469028537755738116?s=20 since NFTs have no legal copyright meaning, i think it's safe to just not care about getting your work jacked, but the concern is then that if you don't get all over on stamping out counterfeit minting, that eventually they'll become legally recognized and you'll be super fucked https://twitter.com/hipsterelectron/status/1469029047137181702?s=20 realized that artists freaking out about getting their work stolen might actually be pumping up NFTs as a legitimate form of ownership more than if they ignore them which is obviously super fucked
